Sidewinder launched 2 years ago and is still pushing! Grab yours now!
This is by far the easiest way to SBR your Ruger 22/45 platform! You can grab our Sidewinder grip module and Form1 your existing 22/45 and add a FAB Defense Cobra stock once approved - OR- go with the 2-stamp (integrally suppressed SBR) on a Form4 right out of the gate! ALL NFA RULES APPLY. FOLLOW ALL LOCAL, STATE AND FEDERAL LAWS.
FAB Defense Cobra stock is NOT included with the grip module, and is available here separately
Check to see if you may need longer grip screws
This is a drop-in replacement grip module for your Ruger 22/45 pistol (any generation and any configuration). Our patent-pending 3D printed grip module is as simple to install as any other wrap-around grips on the market. Simply remove the 4 grip panel screws and the existing grips and install our Sidewinder grip module. The Sidewinder grip module will change the pistols grip angle to one more closely related to a Glock / German Luger / Original Ruger Mark pistol, which has proven to be a comfortable grip angle for decades to many shooters.

MAGAZINE COMPATIBILITY NOTE:
Volquartsen magazine base pads can / do come in contact with the FAB Defense Cobra latch when attempting to insert. Although it’s not a show stopper and can be worked around, you may see some interaction there. The 22/45 frame tolerances are kind of all over the place for mag well dimensions, overall frame width and front to back frame depth.
We’ve tested on multiple Volquartsen hosts as well as numerous Ruger 22/45 hosts (all of which use Ruger-sourced frames) and have had completely different results on each firearm. Some firearms run a Volquartsen magazine with a Sidewinder grip and FAB Cobra stock just fine, and others make it tough to work around. We love our Volquartsens, and are working on a solution, though which approach we’ll take at this time we’re unsure.
Non-extended basepads do not experience this issue. We have not tested with everything available on the market. While we don’t necessarily recommend modifying the FAB defense latch, it would be a very small amount of material to remove to solve the mag compatibility issue. It should be noted that this will likely void the FAB warranty, however. Do so at your own risk.
